Terms of Service
Effective September 22, 2026 · Scout Stream, Inc.
These terms cover everyone who uses Scout Stream. A school that subscribes also signs a School Onboarding Agreement and a student data privacy agreement; where those say something different from these terms, they win for that school.
1. Accounts
You are responsible for what happens under your sign-in. Athlete accounts are for students in grades 9–12. A college recruiting account requires an institutional email address and approval by a person on our team — we do not unlock recruiting access on an email domain alone, because the athletes behind that gate are minors.
2. What schools are responsible for
- The accuracy of the rosters, statistics and records they enter.
- Holding the rights to what they upload, and confirming that participants have agreed to being recorded and broadcast.
- Obtaining and recording the parental or guardian consent that recruiting visibility and academic data require.
- Following our incidental-capture guidance where a stream catches athletes from a visiting school. Visiting athletes are not indexed or made individually discoverable.
3. Content
A school keeps ownership of its data and its video. By uploading, a school grants Scout Stream the licence it needs to host, process and display that content on the platform, to the extent the relevant consents allow. We may remove content that breaks these terms or that puts a student at risk.
4. Statistics integrity
Only coaches and school staff may enter performance data. An athlete can never write their own statistics. Score events are recorded as an append-only history; a correction is a new entry, never an edit of the old one.
5. Subscriptions and billing
School plans are billed yearly. The Team Plan is $300 per team per year and includes 30 live broadcast hours per team; the School Program is $2,500 per year for the whole athletic department and includes 150 live broadcast hours. Hours past the included allowance are billed monthly in arrears at the rate stated on the Billing page. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers. A refund of a payment reverses it on our side, and a cancelled subscription runs to the end of the period it was paid for.
6. Recruiting
Scout Stream gives recruiters a way to find athletes and athletes a way to reach programs. It guarantees no recruiting outcome. Contact with an athlete is gated on that athlete's active consent and on NCAA contact-period rules; when those rules cannot be evaluated, contact is blocked rather than allowed.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Impersonate a coach, a school or a recruiter.
- Scrape, bulk-download or redistribute athlete data or video.
- Re-broadcast a stream outside Scout Stream, or defeat playback protections.
- Use the platform to contact a minor outside the consented recruiting flows.
- Probe, interfere with or attempt to bypass the platform's security.
8. Advertising
Ads are contextual and sold directly. We do not run behavioral targeting, and we do not accept ad categories inappropriate for a platform used by students.
9. Availability
We work to keep the platform up, particularly on game nights, but we do not warrant uninterrupted service. Live broadcasting depends on the school's own internet connection and equipment.
10. Termination
You may stop using Scout Stream at any time. A school may end its agreement on the notice period in that agreement. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or that endangers a student, and we will say why.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Scout Stream is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the fees paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Changes and contact
We will give notice in the app before these terms change materially. Questions go to the address at the bottom of this page.
